A continuação do live-action foi anunciada semanas após o lançamento do primeiro filme, que se tornou um sucesso mundial.

O anúncio das primeiras imagens foi feito no palco da convenção, com a presença de Maia Kealoha (Lilo), que introduziu a apresentação do teaser que confirmou a aparição da personagem ‘Angel’, a famosa namorada de Stitch nas animações, levando os fãs do desenho à loucura.
Angel, o Experimento 624, teve sua primeira aparição em ‘Lilo & Stitch: A Série’ e, posteriormente, apareceu no filme ‘Leroy & Stitch’. A personagem é uma alienígena rosa criada pelo cientista Jumba Jookiba, com habilidades semelhantes às de Stitch e um visual que combina perfeitamente com o alienígena azul, se tornando seu par romântico.
Com estreia prevista para 25 de maio de 2028, a Disney ainda não apresentou informações oficiais sobre o roteiro e sobre o papel de Angel na nova trama. O live-action de Lilo & Stitch está disponível no Disney+.
